Free Summer Activities for Couples

Then, we can use all the money we usually spend on recreation during the summer months on our upcoming vacation. Should You Put Bills on Autopay?

My husband and I have combined finances, and I’m the budgeter/bill-payer in the family. Recently, we sat down for our budget meeting, and he asked why I don’t put bills on autopay. He said if something happened to me and he had to manage the finances, he would use autopay to avoid missing payments. I respect that and know many people love autopay and use it extensively. However, there are several reasons why I don’t use it frequently.

Don’t Give Up If You Need to Start the Budget Over

I’m the budgeting nerd in our family, but finding a budgeting system that works for us took several years. I had to start the budget over more times than I can count, especially when I was new to budgeting and managing our money strategically. However, the important thing is that I never gave up. We’ve been using You Need a Budget (YNAB) for years, and I haven’t had to start the budget over in at least five years. It can be done if you persist.
