Happy 1st of July Everyone!

The month of July is packed with patriotic barbecues and hot summer days, but did you know it is also one of the best months for sales? In this article, you will find out what the best sales are in this month as well as the best items to buy during the month.

If you have any other tips for what to buy this month or your favorite sales, please share them in the comments!

Best Sales:

  • Independence Day Sales
    • This one is pretty obvious, but the sales can be tremendous cost savers! I have already seen Independence Day Sales advertised at grocery stores, Old Navy, and REI. Definitely go check out your favorite brands to see if they offer an Independence Day sale!
  • Amazon Prime Day
    • Monday, July 15th is Amazon Prime Day and lasts 48 hours, according to Tom’s Guide. Amazon Prime Day has some of the best discounts for those of you who are Prime members. Amazon even kicks off the day with a concert with headliners including Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, SZA and Becky G. The concert is streamed lived for all Prime members on July 10th at 9 pm EST through Prime Video. Concert aside, the deals on Amazon Prime Day make the membership well worth-while. Discounts to entirely free items are listed in almost all departments.
  • Best Buy
    • Keep your eye out on this sleeper. Best Buy traditionally offers online and in-store discounts all throughout July and not just for independence day. Sales usually last for a couple of weeks in the month but definitely be sure to visit the site or store at some point this month.
  • National Ice Cream Day is July 21
    • Who doesn’t love free ice cream? Or at least heavily discounted. Be sure to check out your local ice cream truck or stand on July 21st to see what they’re offering as a celebration!
  • Tax-Free Holidays
    • This one is tricky, depending on what state you live in, it can vary greatly. But this helpful guide shows you tax-free holidays by state, and so you can maximize your hard-earned dollars to the fullest!

Best Things to Buy in July:

  • Apparel
    • Clothing Retailers have some of the biggest Independence Day Sales of all. If you have wanted to upgrade your wardrobe, this is the month to do so! Some of the sales can even beat the end of summer back to school sales.
  • Swimwear
    • As mentioned above, clothing retailers have great sales this month. Especially on swimwear since at this point, you’re already halfway into the season. If you need a new pair of swim trunks or bikini, now is the time to snag it!
  • Patriotic Items
    • After the 4th has passed, most patriotic items will be heavily discounted. This is your time to buy for next year! Save some money by buying a year in advance.
  • Personal Electronics
    • Between Amazon Prime Day and Best Buy’s sales, you will be able to stock up on all the new release electronics you have been eyeing all year!

Conclusion

Although most peoples summer weekends get booked up quickly, be sure to save at least one weekend for yourself this month so you can max out on these sales. If you see any great finds this month, let everyone know in the comments!

MANAGE YOUR MONEY TOGETHER

Here are some simple guidelines for DINKS to build wealth:

1) Collaborate: Meet regularly to talk about money, set goals together, track and monitor them.

2) Understand and respect your partner. Take time to understand your partners values about money.

3) Watch the numbers. Get a budget, monitor your spending and track your net worth.

4) Max your retirement. Maximize contributions to your tax deferred retirement accounts.

5) Invest in stock. Stocks perform better than bonds or cash.

6) Avoid high interest debt. Credit cards and title loans are financial cancer.

7) Diversify. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
