Believe
The first thing that you need to do is believe that it can be done. I know people that say they want to generate more income, but they don’t believe that. You have to have the right mindset for certain things to happen in your life. If you don’t believe that you can make more money, you never will, but if you believe that you can, the opportunities can be endless.
Focus
Now that you believe that it can be done, you now have to focus. You may be asking yourself what should you focus on. You should focus on things that you like and things that can help you generate extra income. Do you have any skills that you can monetize? Are you creative? Do you like talking to people? Those are just a few things to consider. Once you find something that you think will make money you should proceed to the next step.
Prepare to sacrifice
Every successful person has had to do some type of sacrifice before. If you want to generate more income, you must be willing to sacrifice. Hanging with friends less, getting up earlier, and watching less TV are just a few things that you may have to sacrifice. I’m am not going to lie and tell you that it will be easy because it’s not. Just remember, sacrifices aren’t permanent. You just need to do it until you are generating more income. Once you are making more, you can start back doing some of the things you used to do.
Set a goal
Setting a goal will help you get to your mark quicker. For example, you may have a goal to generate an extra $5000 by June. If you do the math, you would be able to see how much extra money you need to make each week. Then you could plan on doing what you need to do to get you there. Setting a goal is very crucial to knowing what you want.
Do it
The final thing left is to do it. Put your plan into action and start generating that extra money. You may be nervous starting off, but that’s natural. Whether it’s a side hustle or a part time job you have to be ready to make it happen. Once you start, you will generate more money in due time.
In review, the ways to generate more income is to believe that you can, focus on what you can do to make more, prepare to sacrifice, set a goal and do it. As I stated earlier, anyone can do this. It just depends on if you really want to generate more income or not.

Thanks for this article, our mindset is really the biggest obstacle to creating more income. If someone had told me the amount of work that would go into generating extra income I probably would have shied away from it. It took months (4 months) before I got my first type of income from my blog and even then it hasn’t even paid for the costs of running it, let alone the time value I’ve put into it. But it is starting to snowball, especially since I’ve done a few of the things like you said in the article and forced myself to make sacrifices to make extra income.
I think “do it” is actually my biggest obstacle. Sometimes I get really flustered and overwhelmed at HOW to find the extra work.
Sometimes focusing can be a major drawback for me. It’s not that I’m not focused on generating extra income, I just have too many ideas and become paralyzed from being overwhelmed. To overcome this, I have to keep lots of to-do lists and reminders so I can focus on one thing at a time. Heck, I’m actually trying to do two things at one time right now, smh!
