If you’re into learning about financial history from a decidedly conservative viewpoint, you might consider checking out Nial Ferguson’s The Ascent of Money.  The full four hour miniseries is available for free on you tube.  While 4 hours is a lot to invest, Ferguson is a clear thinker who has a lot of interesting things to say.  Its worth a look see.
