I just caught wind of this, but apparently there was a run on Countrywide Bank in California. The LA Times is now reporting that customers are concerned that Countrywide is going bankrupt and are withdrawing their deposits en masse.

It seems like the subprime mess is starting to catch up with us in an ugly way.
